I have noticed a few posts of my general issue floating around around a year old without a real definitive answer. I have just installed windows 10 & everything is in order except my Turtle Beach Z22 headset.
I get audio through the headset fine and upon plugging in the usb microphone the recording devices menu picks up my voice just fine. As soon as I close out of the audio menu & reopen it the small bars to the side of the mic (that pick up audio level) are empty and it no longer picks up my voice or sounds through the mic & I recieve a pop up error that there is no microphone connected even though windows recognizes the mic, it simply no longer works.
I have ran auto update on all the drivers involving the headset & it has informed me my drivers are all up to date. When running troubleshooting for sound problems one of the options is 'Speakers- 2 - Turtle Beach Z22 Chat. The USB microphone & speakers did not give any details about a driver only the 'Turtle Beach Z22 Chat' file show in the photo above. I was testing everything possible that couldve been wrong, after unplugging & plugging back in I managed to get it to work for a slightly longer period, tested it over skype with a friend & the quality we very poor. Then after a few minutes the microphone stopped picking up sound & the audio came out of one ear reverting to the realtek audio output not the z22 speakers and I received an error saying windows did not recognize my usb device.
