General Electric P7 Wall Oven

Age: More than 10 years I've scoured the forum and haven't found my exact problem so here goes. I have a GE P7 J-Series In-Wall Oven, this beast is old, probably 30 years old. The first issue we noticed was that when we were done baking, and we turned the oven off. It would still be warm/hot the next morning. We have two knobs, one for temperature and one for bake/broil/off, etc. Yes we were certain that it was and the lowest possible temp setting and off. The next issue was it was taking forever to bake anything.

Over the next couple of months I noticed the bottom burner had a bad spot and it eventually burnt through. I replaced this yesterday. Now our food cooked in a reasonable time, but one new issue. The amber light for the temperature setting will not go out. For example, if you set one knob to 'bake' and the other to '350', the amber light stays on untit it reaches 350.

Last night, 1 hour after baking I noticed the amber light was still on and the over was warm. The one knob was set to 'off', however the temp know was still at 350.

I moved the temp knob down to low as possible. Final Draft Tagger Crack. The oven cooled down, but amber light does not turn off, and the amber light was still on this morning, but the oven was cool. There are only 2 wires that connect to the burner, I think I have them in the correct order. Also, should the 'off' know superced any other settings i.e. Thanks for any assistance Last edited by ljbizserv; February 13th, 2013 at 08:32 AM. After 2 hours, I cannot find a wiring diagram. Keygen Adobe Acrobat Pro Dc Help. I can only find a parts list. I read that in the event an oven wont turn off, it can be a faulty thermostat. It said that the contacts can weld themselves together.

I also found that this part is no longer sold (at a reasonable price). Two questions, form the parts list I see there is the Dual Thermostat (#14, Control page) AND Thermal Switch (#282, Section page). Of these two which would they be referring to (welding together). Do you think this is manually fixable other than replacing the part i.e., remove and separate welded pieces somehow? I cant spend $300 for a thermostat on a 40 year old oven. And why wouldn't the 'off' know supercede any thermostat issue? As I always, I appreciate your help.
